Sixty-two Monroe County businesses in a number of different industries were awarded $753,929 in grants to provide a diverse array of training to 1041 employoees. The funds were awarded from January 1 to March 30, 2009.
Customized Training Grants
$6,668.00 was awarded to train 13 employees
Businesses in Monroe County with four or more employees can apply for up to $10,000 to train their incumbent workers. Trainees can earn up to $25.00 per hour and must live or work in Monroe County. More information

Finger Lakes Wired Scholarship
$747,261 was awrded to train 1,028 employees.
The Finger Lakes Wired Scholarship provides training assistance grants to businesses in the 9-county Finger Lakes region. Businesses in Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties can apply for up to $25,000 to train their incumbent workers. Companies must be in the following industries to qualify: advanced manufacturing, alternative energy, bio/life sciences, business services, engineering, information technology, healthcare, and optics/imaging.
